Tying Tiffany - "One Second" (live)
I don't really talk about this concert much at all on my blog, and you will probably never get a concert report on this, because this is honestly a highly personal subject for me. But I think this video can basically show you a snippet of how incredible this was.

Post #500 - The Top Five Songs Nobody Should Disrespect in My Presence
Since this is the 500th post, I figure I'll do something interesting for this. So, here is a list of the top five songs for which I hold the most reverence, for one reason or another. Three of these were very easy choices, but it was hard to make it to a list of five, because a solid dozen songs could have made it into the last two.
So, here's my list, in no particular order:
VNV Nation - "Standing"
This song brings back quite a lot of memories of my early days within the scene. I still listen to this song quite often, because it shows just how incredible and timeless VNV Nation truly is.
I:Scintilla - "Swimmers Can Drown"
This masterpiece by I:Scintilla single-handedly got me back into the scene when I was facing a heavy rut. If it wasn't for this song, I might still be listening to Paramore and Flyleaf on a daily basis.
The Crüxshadows - "Tears"
This song was what got me into a particular band for the first time. Before then, I was just listening to random songs, but this song made me become a huge fan of The Crüxshadows. For the first time, I felt like I had a band that was "mine".
Tying Tiffany - "Drownin'"
OK, did anyone ~not~ expect this on the list? Seriously? I know I was a little bit of a jerk for slow rolling you, but come on. If you know me or know about me even the tiniest bit, you don't even need an explanation for this.
So, here's my list, in no particular order:
Spider Lilies - "Mirror in the Dark"
How can anyone make a knock against the already talented Spider Lilies, with former Crüxshadow, Stacey Campbell, and Chad VanPelt teaming up with Rachel McDonnell?

T.T.L. - "Beyond Fire" and "Deep Shadows"
You all like The Hunger Games, right? Well, I don't care if you do, because ~I~ do. Also, I just happen to think Tying Tiffany is the bee's knees, too, and she's one half of Through The Lens (T.T.L.), who makes movie trailer soundtracks. T.T.L. made the trailer music for both Hunger Games movies, so here you go.

Tying Tiffany - "One Girl"
I sometimes feel like I got a little overzealous with the Tying Tiffany stuff earlier in my blog days, leaving me with less to post. Still, there's plenty of awesome stuff to share from her... because she's awesome.

Tying Tiffany - "One Place"
This is a Tying Tiffany video. If you expected that I wouldn't post this almost immediately, I'd just have to say, "Welcome to Audio Cantrips! You're clearly new here!"

So, about that Tying Tiffany concert + Her ReverbNation "Brain for Breakfast" list
There isn't a whole lot I can say here about the Glasslands concert that would be remotely appropriate to gloss over. Although I expected it to rock, I didn't expect to be completely gobsmacked by it. So, instead of trying to oversimplify, I'll just have to tell you to wait for when I get to doing the full report. You're not going to want to miss it.
Also, I know that a lot of people haven't heard Tying Tiffany's Brain for Breakfast album, because it's insanely hard to find. But it is on ReverbNation. So here's the list:

Tying Tiffany - "Miracle"
Since I'm about to see Tying Tiffany in concert in a few hours, I think it's only fitting that you are subjected to -- er, I show you a Tying Tiffany video. This one was from Peoples Temple. Also, just so you all know, everything at least through tomorrow is going to be a canned post, because I'm going to be gone. You'll get at least a few snippets about my time at the concert on Tuesday though, with a bigger concert write-up at a later date. Check the Facebook page though for short comments!

Tying Tiffany - "One Second"
The new Tying Tiffany "One Second" video is out. It's different from what I expected, but I'm very much not complaining.

Tying Tiffany - "Minimal To Video Campaign"
As it gets closer to the Tying Tiffany at Glasslands date (March 17), I intend to give you all more coverage of her. Here is a video she did for Minimal To, a designer clothing company, recently.

Absolute Grrrls Manifesto [chapter 1] (a.k.a. "Let Me Rip Money out of Epic Lightning's Wallet")
(Property of Alfa Matrix, used under Fair Use for direct, substantial commentary on product)
Here is a listing of just the bands that I personally endorse that are going to be on this compilation:
Does Alfa Matrix hate me or something? It's like on April 12, Alfa Matrix is going to tell me, "You're going to give us a chunk of change, and there's just nothing you can do about it." This almost feels like a tax or a bill. I have to buy this.
Labels:
Absolute Grrrls Manifesto,
Alfa Matrix,
Alice in Videoland,
Ayria,
Collide,

I:Scintilla,
Junksista,
Lovelorn Dolls,
Marsheaux,
Psy'Aviah,
Stray,

Tying Tiffany - "3 Circle"
Does the sight of Tying Tiffany leading a dance around a fire sound appealing to you? I hope so, because that's what you're getting this morning.
Also, don't forget that she's playing in New York City on March 17!

Tying Tiffany - "One Second"
(Property of Tying Tiffany, used under Fair Use for direct, substantial commentary on product)
Tying Tiffany has done it again. She's put out a true work of beauty with "One Second", the one song from her new single, One. There is a hint of a 90s punk feel to this as well as a hint of synthpop. This is so calming, and if there's a way a song can be pretty, this is it. If none of this sold you though, maybe the fact that it's a free download will.

Tying Tiffany - "Show Me What You Got" + tour date announcement
Here's Tying Tiffany wanting you to show her what you got.
That being said, she's coming to New York next month! She'll be at Glasslands in Brooklyn on March 17. Be there or be square!

Tying Tiffany - "Lost Way"
It's been a little bit since I gave some Tying Tiffany love. As a result, you get "Lost Way".

Tying Tiffany - "New Colony"
Since I already showed you all "Drownin'" and "5 AM", it's only fair I show you the other music video from Dark Days, White Nights, "New Colony".
Although "Drownin'" is my favorite song by her, I think "New Colony" is my favorite video. I love the avant-garde aspects with the stock footage. Just watch it! You'll love it!

Tying Tiffany - "Drownin'"
This song just makes me really happy when I listen to it, and it gets lots of use on my Droid. Who cannot like the slightly shoegaze-ey, yet fast-paced electronic goodness that is Tying Tiffany's "Drownin'"?
I don't have tons to say about the song other than the fact it's one of my favorites, ever, and it's what got me into Tying Tiffany. If you are at all into this kind of music, I think it would be difficult to not like this song.

Tying Tiffany - "5 AM"
If you're one of my close friends, you're probably wondering about the glaring omission of a particular artist in the subjects I've discussed so far. Well, that omission has been rectified. Here's a post about Tying Tiffany.
Her newest music video, which came out last week, is the third made from the songs in her latest album, Dark Days, White Nights. (Her previous two are "Drownin'" and "New Colony".) This video is proof that you don't need flashiness to convey a mood and get your point across in a music video. "5 AM" is a song that you're meant to get lost in and let it surround you, almost like a warm blanket on a cold evening. It's not really meant to be a song that gets you pumped up or dancing on the club floor like, say, "Drownin'" or "Show Me What You Got". As such, I feel the elegant minimalism for the video was not only novel, but entirely appropriate.
Also, Tying Tiffany will be doing tour stops in the US soon, and I will make sure to keep you all up to date in regard to the news on that. So far, her only confirmed stop is at 2013's SXSW, but I will be crossing my fingers for some on the East Coast. If or when she announces any, I will make sure to post. Furthermore, if you want to keep up to date with the latest news directly from the source, make sure to check out her official Facebook page.
